Samsung Electronics has held on to its position as the world’s leading TV brand for an unprecedented 18 consecutive years, an achievement never before seen in the industry.
According to Omdia, Samsung captured a 30.1% share of the global TV market in 2023, driven by rising sales of its premium large-screen TVs, including its latest QLED and OLED lineups, which remain hugely popular among consumers. Samsung’s QLED TVs, first sold in 2017, have now sold over 40 million units in total, including 8.31 million units in 2023 alone.

In 2023, Samsung achieved a record 60.5% market share in TVs priced above US$2,500, along with a 33.9% share in TVs 75 inches and above, and a 30.4% share in TVs 90 inches and above. Samsung also set a new record by selling 1.01 million OLED TVs in 2023, and expects sales to grow even further in 2024.
