You need to know the essential skills while creating the successful career in IT field. It’s a true happiness to turn hobby into your fledged career. If you are really interested and passionate about IT, you have to find out which part of IT you want to focus on.

(1) First of all, you have to choose the specialty, for example, software (Development/Implementation) or network (System/Security/Switching & Routing). You have to consider which specialty you are passionate about.

Software Implementation includes the Developer and the Project Manager who manages the development.

Developers can be generally categorized into IOS Developer, Android Developer, Web Application Developer and Database Developer. Everything is separated from Java and based on the software you want to develop, you can learn specific subjects like C++, C#, Node, J2EE, JQuery, javascripts, PHP, CSSS and HTML and then MySql, Oracle for Database section.

You will have to learn important development methods for the Project Management section. It is really important to have awareness about Requirements Analyzing, SSADM, DSDM, Timeboxing, Risk Management, Legal, Ethical and Social Issues, Evaluation and User Training.

You should learn the methods mentioned above in order to pass the tasks that described below.

“Requirement Analyzing” is analyzing the required items and important things when developing software. For example, the basic requirements for developing online shopping website are Items uploaded, Price, Total Price, Login, Logout, Order, Purchase, Item Categories and etc. Most important of all is Item Categories, Item Upload and Order. It is impossible to develop an online shopping website without these three items. One may ask if price and purchase are not necessary, but this can be done via telephone.

“SSADM and DSDM” are Development methods: Structure Systems Analysis and Design Method and Dynamic System Development Method which is chosen based on available budget.

“Time boxing” is setting a deadline for from like which part will be done in specific days.

“Legal, Ethical and Social Issues & Risk Management” is about the issues while developing project, how to prevent them and how to solve them.

“Evaluation” is like the kind of testing. The people who are involved in Project development and other two or more people review the software before presenting to the users. So that developers can manage errors and barriers of design. In the other section, you don’t have to be professional in developing languages. It is only matter to know which type of language and database to use while developing software.

Networking can be categorized into Telecom networking, banking networking, User Support Networking and Security Networking. Although they are all infrastructures, the professionals differ depending on your passionate industry.

(2) You have to be crazy over your chosen specialty. Crazy, here means, you have to be really focused and work hard on your professional. If you are crazy enough about your career, you will be happy to work.

3) If you have already been a Specialist in your specific field, one thing you will have to decide is do you interest only in Technical section or 50% of Technical and 50% of Management otherwise fully interested in Management. You will have to learn all the subjects mentioned, if you are interested in Management. Skills are sometimes more important than the certificates and Diplomas for a true IT professional. Therefore, you have to know every single detail about any subject you learn.
