Kanaung Hub for Technological Startup businesses
It has always been an issue in Myanmar for those who wants to start an IT Startup business or for those youth who just graduated from University of Computer Studies or Technological Universities and wants to start a business but have a financial investment or an office place problems. Moreover, it would be an advantage for young entrepreneurs and who want to start a Startup business to know a place where IT knowledge is shared daily.
In addition, for those who has started the startup business they will get many benefits such as being able to work through effective technical factors, reduce the unnecessary budget at the start of the business, will be able to keep in touch with the latest IT business sector trends and can create a better future with the Co-working space.

Kanaung Hub is a place which will help find the solution for problems that startup businesses face and the Myanmar Computer Federation and Myanmar ICT Development Corporation has started this organization for those youths who are interested in Myanmar ICT technology on 24th of July 2015 at MICT Park in Yangon. The main aims and objectives of Kanaung Hub is to give service for entrepreneurs and startup organizations to start a business systematically.
Kanaung Hub has held technical workshop for youths, opened classes, held Innovative and Creativity Competitions, worked for NLP Projects, held SIDC (Software industry development committee) meetings and held exchange Business experience meetings.

“Kanaung Hub is not only for Startups but also for Internship Students. Kanaung Hub is basically the same as MCF(Myanmar Computer Federation). Our main is to create spaces. The main sponsor is from other groups such as MCF and MIC. We have spaces for the final year students from Computer University and those startup businesses. We give services for those who do not have a huge investment at the start and who find difficulties in finding spaces.” said by Kanaung Hub Manager U Kyaw Kyaw Lin.
Myanmar Innovative Youth 2018-2019 program was held and students from Computer Universities and Technical Universities have participated in the competition and top 3 groups were awarded. Company license where awarded to the 3 groups and 50 lakhs were also awarded for the investment money and they were also given 6 months co-working space at Kanaung Hub. The program known as MYTDP (Myanmar Youth Techopreneurship Development Program) has started in 2017 by Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) and Myanmar Telecommunication (MPT). Kanaung Hub has held the program for 2 times as Incubation Center of MCF.

“MYTDP (Myanmar Youth Techopreneurship Development Program) is a startup Technopreneurship organization and we held this program for 2 times by collaborating with MPT. We have held 2018-2019 program and we are now planning to collaborate with MPT for 2019-2020 program. The date for the program is still in deciding process and the program for this year will be held a little late than compared to previous year. MYTDP (Myanmar Youth Techopreneurship Development Program) has targeted to have 500 teams in 2018-2019 but we didn’t reach the target since we lack on advertising. The main target is for University Students who are interested in IT.
We have a training program for 10 days for the selected 10 teams and 3 top teams will be awarded. We also awarded small prizes for the rest 7 teams. The 3 top teams can work for free at Kanaung Hub for 6 months. As stated in their contracts, they can work on their projects at Kanaung Hub until they are completed. We are hoping to hold this year program in 2020 February but still in deciding stage as we need to have final decisions with MPT as well. MYTDP’s aim is to choose the talented students and we are also planning to let students from outside of the city to participate in this year program. They will face some difficulties at first coming to Yangon and finding a place to eat and sleep here but after we have selected the teams, they will not need to pay for anything in Yangon. They will be awarded 8 lakhs if they did not get into top teams. 2-5 participants can be in one team and the project cannot be the one that was already awarded prizes in other competitions.” said by Kanaung Hub Manager U Kyaw Kyaw Lin.

Young Technopreneurs can participate in MYTDP Program after the Programing Launching program and can be able to apply at https://mmtechnopreneurship.com .
Kanaung hub will focus more on the development of the organization and will focus more on developing the ICT factor with Myanmar Computer Federation and Myanmar ICT development corporation limited will support them. Kanaung Hub will also focus mainly on Myanmar Youth ICT development program by collaborating with Local Talented people, organization and foreign talents and organizations.
Kanaung Hub has many event items and co-working spaces but due to the policy of Kanaung Hub, all the items and spaces must be related with IT and it has held any events at the start but because of the policy, they are only accepting IT related events.
“There are regular customers and teams renting from Kanaung Hub. Some rent spaces regularly. They can rent for hours or months or days. Moreover, people can send in letter to MCF if they have any difficulties in technical and IT stuffs.” said by Manager U kyaw Kyaw Lin.

“We can say that the technology in Myanmar has improved a lot. We have people who work as a Web Designer here. Many youths are becoming interested more in technical stuffs and there are many talented people these days. There may also be future plan that we are not aware yet in other organizations. For example: Industrial Zones want to produce IT related Projects. There are many technicians in Myanmar and also Computer and technical universities and Myanmar has improved a lot in Technical stuffs. There are also many internships students who are interested in IT fields. We are hoping for many Software projects and also Hardware stuffs produced in Myanmar.” said by Kanaung Hub Manager U Kyaw Kyaw Lin.
People can learn and study Technical related books written in Burmese and E-library is also available at Kanaung Hub. Moreover, Own Cloud service is also available to share technological knowledge. It is opened from 9am to 6am and 1 manager, 3 team members, 3 staffs from NLP Project is always there to help people. They are closed on public holidays and Kanaung Hub is there to connect students who are interested in IT and a place where you can start your business.
