Launching new Media and Information Literacy, Messenger Bot
The new launching ceremony of Messenger Bot, Media and Information Literacy Real or Not was held on November 29, 2019, at Central Hotel in Yangon.
At the ceremony, Media and Information Awareness Website and first Face-checking Facebook Messenger Bot Real or Not of Myanmar by Myanmar ICT Association (MIDO) for the development was introduced.Photo Source By Myanmar Tech Press
Ma Htike Htike Aung, CEO, and Co-Founder of MIDO said “it is very easy to read the news in this digital age of information flow. But on the other hand, it is difficult for people to determine the facts are right or wrong. Thus, we aim to help everyone better understand media and information literacy as Media and Information literacy Index level is very low in Myanmar.”
Online Facebook Page Real or Not (ဟုတ်တယ် Vs မဟုတ်ဘူး) checks the information, uploads education posts about media and information awareness and offers direct inquiry from the public. Page has already had more than 100,000 likes and daily queries.

Real or Not Page is one of MIDO’s team which makes Fact-checking Program and one of the first chatbot in Myanmar that check facts. It’s a chatbot, daily checking system of misleading information such as political, Social, Business and Peace in local. In addition, the annual Media and Information Literacy Weekly Education Campaign is also organized and launch weekly Media and Information Literacy TV Program, MIL Kyi to the public every Tuesday with DVB Youth.Photo Source By Myanmar Tech Press
The Media and Information Awareness Handbook developed by the Myanmar ICT Association (MIDO) for the development are (1) Media and Information Literacy (Course), (2) Media and Information Understanding (Trainer’s Manual) and (3) Community-based IT (Curriculum and Trainer’s Manual) and these books have been arranged for teaching the public.
Myanmar ICT Association (MIDO) is the organization that makes Media and information Literacy Courses, Online Education Campaigns, and Fact-Checking Program.
