Ooredoo wins two prestigious awards at Asia’s Excellence Awards 2022
Ooredoo Myanmar received two coveted awards Best Advance in Employee Engagement and Women Empowerment Categories at Asia’s Excellence Awards 2022.
Speaking about receiving the awards, Mr. Jeremiah Ratadhi – Chief Human Resources Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar said, “We are delighted to be recognized with two awards at Asia’s Excellence Awards. Ooredoo Myanmar also receives the award in the Women Empowerment Category for its Tech Age Girls (TAG) Program. TAG Program’s primary goal is to empower young local women aged 16 to 20 to succeed in their careers, become role models, and contribute to their communities.
Mr. Tint Naing Htut, Head of Corporate Communications of Ooredoo Myanmar also commented on receiving the award for Ooredoo Myanmar’s women empowerment initiative, “We strongly believe women play a vital role in bringing change and development of a community. In many years of Ooredoo Myanmar’s activities, the positive impact of strong women has been a central theme. They are the brilliant change-makers that we need. And the TAG program helps Myanmar young women become leaders and role models in their communities. We hope that in the years to come, our participants in TAG Program will become the leaders who will be able to lead during the digital age”.
Ooredoo Myanmar has provided connectivity and equipment for the TAG initiative since 2016 and eventually become program’s primary sponsor in 2019. Ooredoo Myanmar increased its support for TAG Program in 2020–2021 by doubling the number of chosen participants to over 230 and continued to support TAG 2022-2023 with more than 220 participants.
