2023 was a big year for Apple, which unveiled the flagship iPhone 15 Series, the Vision Pro headset, MacBooks with the Dynamic Island design and M3 chipset, and more. Naturally, everyone is curious about what major updates and exciting technology Apple has in store for 2024. Here’s an outline of five products users can look forward to and what they might look like.
(1) Apple Vision Pro
Apple unveiled the Vision Pro headset about six months ago and appears to be planning to launch it in early 2024. Vision Pro is a device with powerful capabilities that can seamlessly switch between Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). It includes hand and eye tracking for controls, along with a super high-resolution micro-LED display.
Vision Pro has also been built to support a wide range of apps, games, and experiences. At an announced price of $3,500, it’s fair to say that’s a fairly steep amount for some users.
(2) Apple AirPods 4
Another Apple product likely to launch in 2024 is the AirPods. Unlike before, the current AirPods and AirPods Pro lines are expected to merge into a distinctive new design. Both the design and sound quality are said to be improved. AirPods 4 is expected to come in two variants at different price points. The higher-priced variant will reportedly include Active Noise Cancellation, previously exclusive to AirPods Pro. It will also come with a new case that includes a speaker to help locate it via an alert sound. Charging is expected to use a USB-C port.
(3) iPad Pro OLED
Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce an iPad Pro with OLED technology in 2024. This would mark the first time users get to use a large OLED display on an iPad. With OLED, contrast, HDR, and power usage would all be significantly better compared to mini-LED or LED displays.
The iPad Pro is expected to be redesigned in 13-inch and 11.1-inch sizes. Since OLED displays are thinner, it remains to be seen whether Apple will also make the new iPad Pro model slimmer overall. It’s also expected to include the faster M3 chip, making it an iPad worth waiting for. Since the iPad Pro hasn’t seen a design change in the past few years, this upgraded display technology could make it noticeably better.
(4) Apple Watch 10 (X)
Apple reportedly intends to release the Apple Watch Series 10, or “X,” in 2024 to mark the Apple Watch’s 10th anniversary. According to rumours, the 2024 Apple Watch will feature a fresh design, a slimmer body, and a new magnetic band system. The magnetic band system is expected to free up internal space for a larger battery.
(5) Apple iPhone 16 Series
The standard models in the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup are expected to gain features previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro models, including the Action Button and a faster 3-nanometer A-series chip. The iPhone 16 Pro model is expected to use a larger 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to go up to 6.9 inches.
The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to exclusively feature a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens, Wi-Fi 7 support, and a faster Qualcomm 5G chip.
