Samsung has revealed the four winners representing Myanmar in its “Galaxy Campus Friends” program, which was also held in other countries. Samsung created this program for young people who are always looking for new opportunities and want to build a new universe of their own, just as they’ve dreamed. The awards ceremony for the winners was held on February 8, 2024, at Samsung Myanmar’s head office.
The “Galaxy Campus Friends” program ran from November 2023 to January 2024, with many young contestants aged 16 to 23 competing intensely through three rounds. In the first round, contestants registered online and competed by submitting videos on the theme “Open Your Universe,” covering topics of their choice across academics, social life, career, or hobbies. Social media influencers Nay Htut and beauty vlogger Phyo Pa Pa Aung then shortlisted 20 contestants. In the next round, those contestants took part in one-on-one online interviews with the influencers and Samsung’s management team, along with a workshop session to prepare for the final round. In the final round, contestants submitted their final videos on the “Open Your Universe” theme, from which four epic winners emerged.
The winning Galaxy Campus Friends are:
- Nyan Htut (Global Pathways International School) — a skilled content creator known for excellent video editing skills and well-crafted travel vlogs.
- Thomas Htet (Chindwin Technological University) — known for creating unique, creative content and captivating viewers with humorous vlogs.
- Thet Htar Su (IIP school) — a contestant with a distinctive style who captivates viewers with lifestyle-oriented daily vlogs.
- Shwe Yee Win Htut (Myanmar Noble University) — known for artistic videos that distinctively showcase her painting skills set to background music in her daily vlogs.
Each of the selected Galaxy Campus Friends received Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI phone, the Galaxy S24, along with a 3-month collaboration with Samsung and a monthly stipend of $200.
“The Galaxy Campus Friends program was created with the goal of giving young people better opportunities to unlock their talents. As we expected, the contestants worked incredibly hard, and we saw truly impressive creativity and ideas. We can’t wait to see how they’ll bring their epic dreams to life and build their own universes through this collaboration with Samsung,” said Ko Tin Maung Win, Head of the Mobile Experience Group at Samsung Myanmar.
Samsung’s Galaxy Campus Friends program, created to give young people better experiences and opportunities, saw young people aged 16 to 23 compete for the chance to build their own “future,” or “universe,” as they pursued their epic dreams.
