MPT Reopens Its SMS Fundraising Platform for the Customers Who Wish To Donate For COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Activities

MPT reopens the SMS Fundraising Platform for its customers who like to make donations at the activities to fight against COVID-19 in the time of rising cases in these days.

MPT implemented the SMS donation platform during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic period from April to May with the aim to provide the required support to Prevention, Control, and Treatment of COVID-19 Disease. All the funds received were transferred to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control, and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

MPT customers who would like to donate through this platform can send an SMS to 9900 with the message 500. One text message equals a donation of Ks 500 and there is no limit on the number of times that customers can donate based on their credit availability. Both prepaid and post-paid GSM/WCDMA customers can make the donation and the amount will be added to the phone bill for post-paid users or deducted from the pay as you go the credit for prepaid users. Photo Source https://www.facebook.com/mptofficialpage

“MPT not only provided the continuous telecommunications services to people of Myanmar but also provided the necessary contributions and telecommunications related support to the required locations in fighting against COVID-19 since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic period. During the first wave, MPT successfully transferred over Ks. 20 million received from generous and caring MPT customers via the SMS Donation Platform along with the additional Ks. 100 million donations from MPT to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control, and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Moreover, MPT extended its high-speed fiber internet lines to Phaunggyi COVID-19 Medical Center recently to suit the requirements. Likewise, MPT also provided the high-speed fiber internet lines, Wi-Fi network, and other related accessories as the necessary telecommunications provisions to COVID-19 Emergency Treatment Center of Ayeyarwady Center (Thuwanna), established by the Ministry of Health and Sports with the support of the Irrawaddy Foundation.
