Telenor To Provide Full MBA Scholarships to Myanmar Youth

With the aim to fulfill the country’s need for human capital growth, Telenor Myanmar is pleased to offer full MBA scholarships to Myanmar youths for the second time. By collaborating with Myanmar Metropolitan College (MMC), Telenor Myanmar offers full scholarship to highly talented students pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic ICT Management in addition to a general MBA program from the University of Business and International studies in Switzerland which is affiliated with Myanmar Metropolitan College (MMC).

Telenor MBA Scholarship program is part of Telenor Myanmar’s ambition to build solid foundations for Myanmar’s digital economy. Anyone who is a Myanmar citizen graduated with strong academic merit with financial needs and passionate to contribute to the improvement of a business, social or public organization using ICT/technology as sustainable solution can apply the Telenor MBA Scholarship. Application will open online until June 14 for the upcoming intake of September 2019.

“Over the past few years, Myanmar has taken several giant leaps forward to connect and digitalize the country. The first intake of this MBA scholarships has received over 400 applications and among them, Ma KhaingYadanarHtun, KoSoeThihaTun, Ko Nay Myo Win, Ma Nan PyaeNyeinThar and KoHram Tim Kam were selected as the winners of Telenor MBA scholarships 2018. The first batch of this MBA program will finish in August 2020 and it has aimed to provide a total of 20 scholarships within four years (2018 – 2021).

Telenor Myanmar has implemented several corporate responsibility activities including the opening of Lighthouse digital literacy centers which have trained over 156,000 students in core smartphone and computer skills, and educated over 290,000 government school students on using the internet effectively and safely through its Safe Internet Program. Telenor Myanmar in November, 2018 has commenced its first year-long Digital School program to provide basic computer literacy and safe internet training to 100,000 students across Myanmar.
