20 million kyats for free online courses in rural areas through Telenor’s Gift of Learning program

Telenor Myanmar has partnered with Network Activities Group (NAG) and launched Free Online Courses for about 22,500 people from over 1,500 rural areas in 10 states and regions through the “Gift of Learning” program. Rural people from states and regions, Ayawaddy, Bago, Kayah, Kayin, Magway, Mandalay, Mon, Saging, Shan, and Yangon will be able to attend free courses starting from February.

Participants will be able to learn prevention tips of COVID-19, and career opportunities. The curriculum is based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports and the World Health Organization (WHO). The courses are conducted by NAG’s qualified trainers through digital platforms such as Zoom, Viber, and Facebook Messenger. Photo Source https://www.telenor.com.mm

Telenor has launched a “40 Hours Learning Challenges” program for Telenor employee around the world since 2018. Telenor Myanmar introduced the “Gift of Learning” program in 2020 to benefit employees not only for their personal development but for the community. Telenor Myanmar will donate 200,000 Kyats for an average hour of the training of Telenor employees. Telenor Myanmar will donate 20 million kyats as the employees have learned an average of 88 hours per person by 2020. The donation will be used to cover the cost of the trainers and the cost of telecommunications (data and phone bills) for the participants of the free online course.
