Instagram, which is constantly building new features for its users, unveiled another round of new features on December 13 in a blog post.

Instagram is one of the best places to post photos and Reels, and it’s just as good a place to show off your lifestyle. Among the newly introduced features, Instagram says users on the platform will now be able to share their thoughts and notes with others through a feature called “Notes.” Notes are short posts, limited to 60 characters including text and emoji.
To use Notes, you can write a note by selecting from the followers you follow back, or from your Close Friends list, at the top of your inbox. Any note you write will stay at the top of their inbox for 24 hours. If someone replies to your note, that reply will land in your own inbox. This feature lets you casually share what’s on your mind or how to start a conversation, make a recommendation, or simply connect more with friends.

Another newly introduced feature lets friends turn your Stories into a trend of their own. When someone posts a Story, others can tap “Pass it on” to create their own version of it.

The last feature is Group Profiles, which can be used by groups. Friends often set up group chats to share jokes and entertainment content with each other. To make this easier, Instagram has now added the Group Profiles feature. Content shared to a Group Profile will only be visible to the members under that Group Profile — your own followers won’t see it. To create a Group Profile, just tap the + icon and select Group Profile.
