Ooredoo Myanmar’s Internship Program 2023 drew strong interest from young people across the country. Applications opened in January 2023, and the company received nearly 700 applications. Based on set criteria and selection process, as well as the positions available within the company, Ooredoo pre-appointed 38 interns as its first batch, across various business areas including Human Resources, Market Expansion, BI & Analytics, B2B & Wholesale, Digital, Finance, and Technology departments.

Mr. Jeremiah Ratadhi, Ooredoo Myanmar’s Chief Human Resources Officer, said, “We want to invest in the next generation of the telecom industry, and the Internship Program is one of Ooredoo’s efforts to nurture and train young talent who can drive the telecom sector forward in the future. I was delighted to welcome the interns to Ooredoo’s Yangon and Mandalay offices, and it was gratifying to see their enthusiasm and energy. These young people will gain many benefits from the program, including job opportunities, personal growth, and the chance to learn best practices in the telecom industry.”

After the first round of selection based on set criteria, Ooredoo Myanmar arranged presentations from each relevant department, giving first-round selectees the chance to learn how each department operates and apply for their top three preferred departments. Final selectees were then assessed through interviews with managers from each department alongside representatives from the Human Resources department, based on their interests and relevant qualifications.

Ooredoo Myanmar’s Internship Program is designed to give enthusiastic young people valuable work experience, develop their skills and abilities, and build connections across their field, with a stipend provided throughout the training period. The program includes hands-on training across various roles, classroom-style training sessions, and guidance from Ooredoo Myanmar’s management team across different departments, equipping participants with solid knowledge of the telecom industry. The program runs for three months, and at its conclusion, some interns will be selected and offered employment at Ooredoo Myanmar.
