The Asian Telecom Awards, now in its second year, recognizes the achievements of the highest-performing telecom companies across the Asia region. ATOM received these awards for its ability to deliver comprehensive services to its customers, its successful entry into the market with the ATOM brand launched in June 2022, and its ability to prioritize technological innovation and carry out community-focused initiatives while overcoming business challenges.

Speaking about winning two major awards, ATOM’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Muhammad Ziaullah Siddiqui, said, “We are very honored to receive the ‘Telecom Company of the Year – Myanmar’ and ‘Mobile Operator of the Year – Myanmar’ awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2023. This recognition is proof of ATOM’s steadfast commitment to delivering innovative and trusted community-based services in Myanmar. We will continue to invest in ATOM’s network and digital ecosystem to give our customers the best possible mobile experience.”

We also want to sincerely thank our customers for their trust and loyalty in ATOM, our business partners for their support, and every ATOM employee for their steadfast effort in achieving these great results,” said ATOM’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, U Win Paing Kyaw.

The ‘Telecom Company of the Year – Myanmar’ award recognizes ATOM’s outstanding performance in Myanmar’s telecom sector. Despite facing business challenges, this award highlights ATOM’s ongoing efforts to deliver world-class services to its customers.

Within 100 days, ATOM successfully introduced its new brand to the market, restructured its existing services under a new framework, migrated its roaming services to new suppliers, and opened an office in Singapore. These undertakings would normally take about a year, so accomplishing them in such a short time without any disruption to ATOM’s network is a remarkable achievement.

ATOM won the ‘Mobile Operator of the Year – Myanmar’ award for successfully delivering high-quality mobile services to its customers. This award highlights ATOM’s position as one of Myanmar’s leading mobile operators, delivering innovative services to meet customers’ ever-changing needs.

ATOM has also introduced the ATOM Store app, which connects customers to a wide range of digital services, along with innovative and engaging campaigns such as the Toh Toh Side Car 3D game and the Let’s Play Arena gaming platform. ATOM serves more than 18 million customers across Myanmar and operates around 9,000 telecom towers, providing coverage to 95% of the country’s area.

“It is ATOM’s firm commitment to consistently deliver innovative, upgraded products that has paved the way for such remarkable achievements in the telecom industry. ATOM’s efforts have brought about the best possible improvements to the lives of the communities it serves. Winning both the Telecom Company of the Year and Mobile Operator of the Year awards on behalf of Myanmar at the Asian Telecom Awards is a testament to their consistently outstanding efforts,” said Tim Charlton, Editor-in-Chief of Charlton Media Group.

The Asian Telecom Awards is organized by Asian Business Review, a leading business magazine published by Singapore-based Charlton Media Group. The judging panel for the Asian Telecom Awards is made up of representatives from four renowned management consulting firms: Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and Ernst & Young (EY).
